Workplace safety is one of the highest priorities for Varney, Inc. as a company. As a result of that commitment to safety, Varney, Inc. uses a proven method of creating a safe workplace called S.T.A.R.T. The steps of this plan help individual employees as well as teams of employees to achieve the safest possible work environment.

S. Safety first attitude. Keep safety in mind at all times. Always think about safety before starting work, while working, and after finishing. Make it top priority at all times.

T. Task review and job assessment. What are we doing and what could go wrong? Plan out and think through the task ahead. Think about what could possibly go wrong and how the risk could be eliminated.

A. Awareness. What is going on around us? Before work begins and as the work is being done, keep an eye out for potential danger. Always be aware of your surroundings.

R. Risk elimination. If we notice something dangerous, fix it. If you see a problem, fix it before an accident can occur. Don’t be afraid to say something that could prevent injury or save someone’s life.

T. Team approach. Help out. Take charge. Exercise teamwork. Working together makes a task easier and less risky.

Safety Leads to Success

Save Time. When you hire a company that makes safety a major focus and top priority, your business benefits. You can expect your project to be completed on time. Preventing worker injury keeps the timeline on track and eliminates interruptions to the workflow.

Save Money. The overall cost of a project is lower when the company does not have to build in extra funds for potential accidents or delays.

Keep Everyone Safe. Safety in the workplace not only keeps the contractors safe, but it keeps employees of your company safe as well. Some projects can be completed while business goes on as usual. Safe practices keep everyone in the vicinity safe from injury.

Get Exceptional Results. A safety conscious team will deliver the best results on your project because everyone will have a greater understanding of the task at hand. Working together as a team to keep each other safe helps the overall unity of the team, which leads to faster, better results.
